A Guide To “Thinking & Drinking” (feat. Leslee Miller)

Here’s a question I’ve been wondering lately, “Can food and drink be a tool for mental travel in the time of COVID while we’re all stuck at home?”

Hell yes it can! But you'll have to go about it the right way.

I’ve realized, if we can learn to implement Sommelier Leslee Miller’s philosophy of “Thinking & Drinking,” maybe we can get our mouth, nose, and eyes abroad… even if the rest of our body can’t.

Join me on the podcast as we head to a Salzburg Austria, and enter a schnapps shop resembling a store right out of a Harry Potter novel, where I learned… maybe drinking before noon doesn’t have to lead to drunkenly stumbling back onto a Sound of Music tour bus.

Question № 78 | Is there no truth? Are there only stories? (feat. T.D MISCHKE)

I’ve had a major problem doing this podcast… If I want to become a better bassist, I know where to look. There are professionals I can ask for lessons and advice on anything from tools to techniques.

But where does one look if their goal is to become A Curious Person? Is there anyone who’s gone before and paved the way? Someone who’s questions are endless. Someone who understands that the human experience is a one-way ticket on a train that seems to be picking up speed. Someone who’s cultivated an insatiable appetite to learn about and listen to as many different personal stories, views, experiences, and thoughts as possible.

There is such a man,

his name…

T.D. Mischke.

My friends, if there was ever an episode that took a nose dove deep into what it means to be A Curious Person, this is it. Listen with caution. It may change everything.

Lisa Kudrow’s Advice For Performers and “The Contagiousness of Energy”

I was recently listening to an interview with Lisa Kudrow (best known for acting on F.R.I.E.N.D.S.) In it, she talked about how, if you’re stepping on stage to perform, your NUMBER 1 PRIORITY is to be confident, relaxed, and comfortable.

“The audience is uncomfortable if you’re uncomfortable.”

I’ve known for years that, when we step on stage, we set the tone of the room but here’s the deal…

I haven’t been spending as much time on stage these past few months, but I’ve been wondering if this is true in my everyday life as well. Is energy contagious? What would it look like if I was as intentional about my energy say… when we walk into a room or jump on a zoom call lately?

I feel cheezy as hell talking about this stuff sometimes, but man, I wish someone would have told me years ago that we all have this low-key superpower we're not tapping into called, setting the tone.

We Got COVID! (Why you should stop listening to EVERYone’s opinions)

Thank you to those that have reached out, noticing that the podcast suddenly stopped this month and that I’ve been absent from social media.

Following a week in bed with a stomach bug at the top of September, once I was FINALLY feeling better, Sarah and I both contracted COVID and were completely wiped out… scary stuff!

Interestingly, even with the numbers so high, it’s hard to wrap my mind around (1 million deaths worldwide, 200k deaths and 7.2 million JUST IN THE U.S.!) I still had a ton of friends saying that Sarah and I were the first people they knew personally who got it.

So, I pulled out the ol’ camcorder and recorded a video talking about what our experience looked like. (Testing, symptoms, and recovery) but first… we need to talk about all the opinions floating around out there.

Everyone seems to have a Medical Degree from Facebook University and when it comes to something serious like this… it can become pretty overwhelming.
