Jonathan Palmer is the president of one of the midwest’s largest sci-fi/fantasy conventions, CONvergence. I’ve never been to a sci-fi/fantasy convention before and when a friend told me it was taking place while I was in town, I knew I had to check it out!

 

I reached out to Jonathan to sit down and learn more about the convention, but what ended up taking place was a conversation that taught me about community, solidarity, identity, and how, if it weren’t for racism, a map of Minneapolis' highways would look entirely different.
